Contact with Residents and Relatives/Friends/Carers

Residents’ links with family, friends and representatives are encouraged in Mount Carmel. There are no set visiting times and visitors are welcomed at all times before
10pm. Families and friends are encouraged to visit and we will arrange for residents to entertain visitors privately if required.

Families are encouraged to be available to continue to support residents and where feasible take an active part in their care e.g. take relative to GP and hospital appointments.
Birthdays and all other anniversaries/occasions are celebrated with family and friends In line with our infection control and social contact policies access to the Centre maybe restricted in the event of an outbreak of notifiable disease or pandemic. All restrictions will be in line with an action plan developed in response to the outbreak and following local, regional and national guidance and directives.

As of May 5th 2021 Mount Carmel has implemented the revised guidelines for visiting Mount Carmel and the Guidelines for returning to the community. As part of the infection control measures and as part of the national guidelines we have to limit it to 4 visits per resident per week and the visit can consist of 2 people.. We would ask all visitors to complete and sign the Covid-19 visitor’s questionnaire prior to their visit. This questionnaire can be found at https://www.mountcarmelcallan.ie/covid-19-information/
